This adorable little Donk has it all - he's gentle, charming, friendly, and really wants his own person or family to love! Video links & contact info below.
Danke (pronounced "Donk - eh") is a 4-year-old donkey that stands 12-12.1 hh tall. He was rescued from the meat truck by Steph K Equestrian and has since been fully rehabilitated and trained up beautifully! Steph K Equestrian specializes in rescues without the baggage - I rehabilitate and train the horses (or donkey!) so you adopt a healthy, well-adjusted, and well-trained horse (or donkey!) while also being able to save a rescue animal's life! This donk is up-to-date on his vaccines, teeth, deworming, and farrier work. He is healthy and sound.
He respects personal space, leads off rope pressure and body language, stands at liberty or tied, and looooves to be snuggled. He will prop his nose on your shoulder while you rub his ears. He will stand for hours if you are brushing, petting, or loving on him. He stands for the farrier and vet. He loads and hauls well.
He is great with kids - here is a video of him being caught in the paddock, lead inside, groomed & tacked, and then ridden by a 9-year-old beginner rider - https://youtu.be/fuH1ZPOZQIU
He has started ground driving - however, I am not a professional driver and I do not do a great job at it! Here is a video of me catching, grooming, handling feet, tacking, bitting, and doing my best attempt at ground driving him. I give him all the wrong signals and approach things wrong, yet he still tries to please and is so calm and sweet the whole time! https://youtu.be/ugjwjDptAn8
This little donk gets along well with other horses and mini's. He doesn't have a mean bone in his body - he is kind, gentle, and sweet. He has never offered to kick, bite, buck, rear, etc. He is ready to be your new family pet. Perfect for the kids, grandkids, nieces, or nephews!
He is available to beginner through advanced families and adoption fee includes 3 free lessons/training sessions - so you can get to know him and/or your kiddos can learn how to work with/ride him!
