FACILITY & AMENETIES
A SAFE SPACE
SKE is based out of a gorgeous facility in Willard, MO. We aim to have our farm provide a safe space for both humans and equines. We are inclusive & supportive of our fellow equestrians here. SKE is also home to holistic care & we practice ethical training methods.
Amenities for the Equine
SKE is committed to providing holistic, species-appropriate care for equines.

We have decades of experience and have been caring for equines at this facility since 2019.
At this facility alone, we have successfully managed a variety of equines: from feral horses/mustangs to off-track thoroughbreds, from starved rescues to high-performance sporthorses, from mini's to drafts to donkeys and mules.

Our facility utilizes 100% Force-Free, Positive Reinforcement methods and is committed to ethical handling. Read more about Our Philosophy.
Holistic Care
SKE believes in a "holistic" approach - that all the individual components involved in care, training, handling, etc. are interconnected and work together to create a healthy, happy horse.
We give consideration to each equine to ensure their individual needs are met.
Free-Choice Forage
SKE provides supplemental hay to all enclosures to provide 24/7 forage access, year-round.
Pastures have seasonal grass for grazing, managed with rotational grazing, while dry lots are grass-free. SKE offers grass hay for easy keepers or nutritious alfalfa hay for equines with greater caloric needs.
Free-Choice Minerals
All enclosures have our 20-Mineral System by Free Choice Enterprises, Inc.
Free choice "buffet style" minerals allow equines to balance their nutritional needs effectively & efficiently. All boarders also have access to Steph for CEN (Certified Equine Nutritionist) consults.
Safe Fencing
The entire property is surrounded with 5'-6' tall steel pipe fencing with 2"x4" horse panels, providing the ultimate safety barrier for horses. Pastures and large drylots are also enclosed with this type of fencing.
Some pastures are cross-fenced with 4'6" tall 2"x4" horse fencing, secured by t-posts & electric topping.
Dynamic Enrichment
In addition to supplemental enrichment activities, our equines are "spoiled by choice" - given environment filled with options, then allowed the freedom to maintain their own comfort. All enclosures feature options for shade, shelter, & sunshine. Equines have open spaces to allow ample movement. Varied terrain promotes hoof health (areas for each of: hard/soft, wet/dry, flat/inclined).
Attention to Herd Dynamics
SKE takes care to balance social groups and provide as much stability as possible to all equines, including boarding equines.

Herds are maintained to optimize social health, with consideration to each equine's environmental needs.
Daily Wellness Checks
SKE checks every equine, every day, both in person and by video monitoring, to ensure they are healthy & happy. Owners are alerted immediately if there is anything abnormal.
Enclosures are checked daily for fence/gate safety, forage accessibility, and fresh, clean water access.
