Service Description

Learn about equine behavior, care, & positive reinforcement training and gain experience handling, training, & riding. Lessons are booked for two hours total, which includes 60-90 minutes of instruction and 15-30 minutes of independent work before & after the instruction time. 🐴❤️ Not your average lesson program! In this lesson program, students will learn about all aspects of horsemanship - handling, training, care, and riding. Learning is at the student's pace & our instructors are kind, thoughtful educators that make learning fun for the students & the horses! SKE focuses on gentle horsemanship methods: we use positive reinforcement training, meaning we emphasize rewards, autonomy/choice/consent, & having a willing equine partner. At SKE, we believe: 🐎 Horses deserve to have their needs met first, then be invited to interact or perform 🐎 Horses are not sporting equipment, and riding is a privilege, not a right 🐎 Horsemanship & riding should be fun for the horse 🐎 Horses have the right to say "no" 🐎 These rules apply to people, too! At SKE, you won't find: ❌ Whips, Bits, Spurs, Chains ❌ Yelling, Force, Fear, Stress At SKE, you will find: ✔️ Happy Horses ✔️ Happy Students We have ongoing opportunities for camps, volunteering, showing, leasing horses, and adopting horses. Advanced students have the opportunity to join the SKE Team - our close-knit community for those interested in more advanced horsemanship, showing, and social events. All participation in the SKE educational programs supports our in-house Equine Rescue Program, thank you for helping us give our rescue equines safety & comfort!
